Hasta Luego
Today I went from the mountains to the sea in less than an hour. I was so moved by the beauty of the mountains that I teared up thinking of leaving this place tomorrow and it has been hard to stop the tears ever since. Not just the land which is beautiful but my family who have been so welcoming to me.
I love beautiful Panama.
Like my hat? Not exactly what they are talking about when they say Panama hat but it works for me. Today I am officially a Panamanian. I now have a copy of my birth certificate and went through the process to get an official ID. I feel so exotic!
Resting before going out tonight to see a traditional show. Still feeling run down but got my hands on a thermometer and it says I don't have a fever. If it comes and goes it must not be high. Hooray! Hate that I am still feeling under the weather but it is not stopping me from enjoying every minute. And just as I predicted I probably won't have as many photos here as Chicago. There I was on foot walking everywhere so I had lots of opportunities. Here I am in the car a lot. I am seeing the while city but not able to document as well. I still have a few days left to get more stuff. This trip was always about more than pictures.I am so exhausted I can't see straight. I had a fever earlier and took some medicine. I will soon go to sleep and hopefully sleep well for a very long time.
BUT before I do I wanted to share the views from my dinner table. I had dinner at the Miraflores Locks of the Panama Canal. I really don't think you could get a better view of this engineering marvel.
